MOUNTAIN CABIN

This residence is sited amidst the rocks, pines and junipers of a remote, highaltitude site surrounded by National Forest in Central Oregon. Primary rooms orient to the southwest to capture views of the Three Sisters mountains. A pond built below the house reflects the mountain views and serves as an emergency water supply. On the first floor are the main living spaces and a guest bedroom. Upstairs is a master suite, a bedroom/office, and a sleeping loft in a separate wing above the garage. The steeply pitched metal roof and deep porches respond directly to the harsh climactic conditions, and the board-andbatten siding and peeled log columns add to the rustic character.
