Streimer Sheet Metal Works, Inc., Oregon’s largest sheet metal contractor, occupies more than a full block in Portland’s Lower Albina industrial district. This expansion is the first construction resulting from intensive master planning efforts. Responding to manufacturing requirements and site constraints, it adds 2,700 sf of shop area topped by office space. A new elevator and stair tower link the new offices to the completely remodeled existing office building. The project’s focal point is the office building’s new aluminum-clad facade, featuring a canopy and sign that showcase the client’s metal craftsmanship capabilities.
This project was named AIA Project of the Month by the Portland Chapter/American Institute of Architects and the Daily Journal of Commerce.
