This new space for one of the Northwest’s premier interior design firms is located in an industrial area in Northwest Portland. In an innovative arrangement, the firm occupies a small portion of a large site occupied by a separate business selling plants, garden accessories and interior furnishings. The studio space was created by enclosing space under an existing shed roof alongside a metal quonset structure. It consists of a single long, open room, served by a separate kitchen and restroom at the end. The studio features high ceilings, abundant daylight and dramatic views across the outdoor garden area up to the Fremont Bridge. Finishes are straightforward industrial materials used cleanly and simply.
